Homestead Exemptions

On February 15, 2023, the Board of Directors of the District voted to increase the general homestead exemption for homes in the District from 10% in 2022 to 15% for the 2023 tax year.

In addition, the Board voted to increase the homestead exemption for residents over 65 and/or disabled from $20,000 in 2022 to $30,000 for the 2023 tax year.

Homeowners in the District are urged to contact Fort Bend Appraisal District to file a request for a homestead designation for your home if you have not already done so—once the homestead is approved by the Fort Bend Appraisal District the exemption is automatically applied to your District tax bill.
